# Configure system settings

System Settings are deployment-wide controls. They determine whether operators can use testnet networks and whether Signing Policies can include USD value conditions.

## Open System Settings

In the sidebar, select **System Settings** under **SYSTEM**. You need **View System Resources** to open the page. The current state of each setting appears as **Enabled** or **Disabled**.

To make changes, you also need **Modify System Settings** in Administrative Policy.

## Available settings

| Setting | When enabled | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Enable price-based policies** | On-chain Signing Policies can include a USD value cap, and the price feed runs | Enabled |
| **Enable testnets** | Testnet networks and assets are available for wallet generation and Signing Policy rules | Disabled |

## Change a setting

1. Select **Edit settings**.
2. Turn each setting on or off as needed.
3. Select **Save changes**.

Select **Cancel** to leave edit mode without saving.

When you enable testnets, the app confirms that testnet networks and assets will become available in wallet and policy workflows. Wallet forms use the current network catalog from the Crypto Vault, so unavailable networks cannot be submitted.

## Resolve a blocked change

The Crypto Vault protects existing configuration when you turn a feature off:

* Before disabling testnets, remove testnet networks from wallets and Signing Policy rules.
* Before disabling price-based policies, remove USD value conditions from Signing Policy rules.

If another administrator changed settings while you were editing, your save is rejected to prevent an overwrite. Select **Cancel**, select **Edit settings** again, review the latest values, and reapply your change.

Every successful settings change is recorded in Audit Logs as **System Settings Updated**.
